June 29, 2020This is a great tutorial but I am wondering if anyone has recommendation for how to solve a problem I am running into. I have a power query that goes out and grabs Covid data. But the table it is grabbing from does not have a "date" on it (@t but I need to track by the date. How do I tell the advanced editor to insert the date it retrieved the data in the first column? The convert dates don't work because the site does not have a date. So I am wondering how to insert the date in the first column based on the date the power query was run.

June 29, 2020Hi All, I have a question and I will be very grateful for help.
QUESTION: How can I connect in Power BI to a query (transformed by Power Query) saved as Connection Only in the other Excel file? I have not extracted it to sheet because of the size.
I have a big data transformed in Power Query and saved in one Excel file and because of the big size of the content of the query I keep it as Connection only, and I have not extracted it to to table in the Excel file sheet.
Is there a possibility that I could use the content of this query, from the Excel file (saved as Connection only), as an input data in another Power BI model?
I know that I could build the same query from scratch in Power BI (or copy the M code), but I would like to limit the number of processes to be run by the Power BI model, and use the already prepared data from another file.
Thank you very much in advance for help.
