Port Royal is a great little game, we love it.

Definitely suggest taking a look at 'The Pirate Republic'. Being the first game from a first-time publisher, the rules overlook a few minor things and so are being fixed now. Other than that, it's a very good, solid game which blends Mage Knight mechanics with Ameritrash gameplay. Plus the Pirate theme is awesome.

We had a game called BROADSIDES that we used to play with. It had huge plastic model ships with foot tall masts, cannons, pirate figurines and playing cards. It was fantastic for role playing if you wanted to use it for that.

although i usually don't like games which focusing on attacking or taking from the other player/s, i recently got Broadsides. It is very thematic and fun to have your own pirate ship and bring the other one down. The game is fast, and it is so much fun trying to bring the other ship down. The only downside I noticed though after a couple of games is if you blow or damage your opponent severely and he has not been able to do so, then it almost becomes a one-player game since the other one is just basically watching/playing until you sink them down and they can't touch you. But I feel that's a minor flaw though, as, if that does happen, the game can play so quickly that you can just resign and play another match. I love pirate theme!

YARR! Pirate themed games! My favorite is Rum and Bones, which is perfect for 2 players. I also like Oath of the Brotherhood, a piratey worker placement game.

If it played 2 players, I think Winds of Plunder would be right up your alley.

I'm a subscriber and love your videos and find them informative, however in this case there are so many great pirate games not in this list that I don't know where to start.. I guess pirate games tend to be either too confrontational or not suited to 2 players. (not big surprise)

Nice list, you really hyped me about Sewer Pirats (I did watch your other video about it), it looks really fun (didn't find it on the website when I shop though, it might have another name in french :S)

A little suggestion, I think it would be nice if you could add a picture of the board for each game you talk about (like you did with Admiral of the Black). It really helps to see if a game is for us or not, I think.

Thanks for the great list again, Richard. I do hope you go back to holding the boxes up
though; the relative sizes and bulk are a big part of the charm of looking at games one hasn't seen before!

Cool list. "Pirate's Cove" by Days of Wonder is a good one. I think it's sorta been forgotten though as I don't hear much about it…it's definitely better with higher player counts though.
